Dr. Kevin Waltz is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive experience in clinical care and clinical research in the United States and abroad. He has been involved in naming, testing, refining, and teaching presbyopia treatment for over 20 years, including many first-in-man trials in Central America of developing technology.
Dr. Waltz was one of the first ophthalmologists to offer laser vision correction in Indiana. Since the mid-1990s, his primary professional interest has been in refractive surgery in its various forms, including refractive cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and refractive lens surgery. In 1998, he personally had bilateral cataract surgery with the Array multifocal IOL, one of the first IOLs to purposely treat pseudophakic presbyopia.
Dr. Waltz is well known for pioneering the concept of combining world-class clinical research in Central America with charity eye care in the area to improve the quality and quantity of eye care available in Central America.
Dr. Waltz is a very accomplished Laser Vision Correction specialist with 25 years of experience and approximately 25,000 Laser Vision Corrections completed. He is regularly asked to discuss cataract surgery and refractive lens surgery with surgeons and optometrists around the world. Dr. Waltz continues to participate in FDA clinical trials to develop the latest medications and implants to further improve and refine eye surgery in the United States.
