Reading Glasses Prescription

Are you having trouble reading up close? If you’re struggling to read restaurant menus or see your computer screen clearly, and you’re tired of relying on reading glasses, then there might be a refractive procedure out there for you.

LASIK and PRK work to correct your distance vision, but procedures like Refractive Lens Exchange and KAMRA Inlay can help you see up close without worrying about those annoying reading glasses.

KAMRA Inlay

As we get older, our eyes age with us. In your mid to late 40s, you might notice that you are struggling to see up-close and that you need reading glasses to help. This is called presbyopia, which just means that your near vision starts to deteriorate as you age. To combat this, the KAMRA Inlay procedure can greatly reduce the dependence on reading glasses in patients over 40.

The KAMRA Inlay is a small ring, which is smaller than a contact lens, that is put in your non-dominant eye. This helps you see up close with one eye while keeping your distance vision in both eyes. The eyes work together so you can see both near and far.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) can be an option for patients who might not be a candidate for other refractive procedures. RLE is typically best for patients with presbyopia or extreme farsightedness that don’t qualify for LASIK or PRK.

RLE procedure replaces the eye’s clear natural lens with an artificial lens to correct vision and help you see more clearly. This also reduces the need for reading glasses and bifocals. RLE is very similar to cataract surgery.
